Gaumarjos Vin is a Swedish importer of natural wines from Georgia, Caucasus. Beside being made naturally with biodynamic farming methods and completely without additives, these wines are unique because they are made in qvevri, large clay vessels buried in the ground. This ancient method was invented in Georgia 8,000 years ago, which makes it the world’s oldest wine region.
When the company was founded in 2009 the awareness of natural wines was basically non-existent. Still, we did not want the design to explain or comment on these historical aspects of local wine production. Instead, we chose to communicate the timeless joy of drinking natural wine. The symbol is a G, but also a character that happily drinks a glass of wine. It can be animated and also modified to suit different situations. When tilted forward, the symbol smells the wine; tilted backwards, the glass is enthusiastically emptied.
